New for 2014, Vaude introduces their top-tier trekking backpack: the Vaude Centauri. The Centauri is made for strenuous, multi-day hikes that require you to haul all of the gear on your back. The Centauri is a real workhorse with plenty of storage space and excellent carrying comfort.

The Centauri is built upon Vaude’s newly developed Tergolight Comfort suspension system that integrates two separate frames to provide amazing stability and efficient load distribution. To meet the needs of different torso lengths—and for a perfect fit on your back—the Tergolight Comfort suspension system can be fully and easily adjusted. The padded hip belt, engineered to increase wearing comfort and stability, is easy to fasten with the "pull-forward" adjustments.
The Centauri keeps your gear organized with two internal compartments and a good collection of low-profile pockets on the outside. Inside the pack is the main cavity and sleeping bag compartment. The main cavity is accessed through the top opening and a zippered opening in the front. The sleeping bag compartment is accessed through different zippered openings at the front of the pack and bottom of the main cavity.
The front of the pack has a convenient zippered pocket for quick-to-get items while the adjustable and detachable lid features an inner safety pocket and an easy-access outer pocket. The hip belt pockets as well as the mesh pockets on the side of the pack are conveniently placed to allow access while wearing the pack.
The Women’s version is a bit lighter and has a hip belt and shoulder straps that are ergonomically designed for women and smaller people.
