The New Gear Unveiled at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2014

While most woodland creatures are sedated during the winter months, Liberty Mountain has all engines set at full speed. Aside from the heavy load of holiday sales, our team has been busy with creating two large catalogs, demoing gear at ice festivals, and unveiling the latest and greatest gear at trade shows.

During the last two weekends, we were at Outdoor Retailer in Salt Lake City, UT and the SIA Snow Show in Denver, CO where we showed off some of the new 2014/2015 winter items from Vaude, Grivel, Movement, Cypher, Valandre, and Peregrine:

Vaude is now manufacturing avalanche ski-packs that are equipped with the ABS Twin-bag system. The ABScond Flow 22+6 is perfect for downhill oriented ski touring and snowboarding. It has a fast-access zip panel and a 6-liter volume expansion. The ABScond Tour 36+4 is made for endurance tours. As a top-loader, the Tour offers generous access to the main compartment and has a 4-liter volume expansion.

Vaude has also created a new ski/snowboard backpack called the Nendaz. The Nendaz is a technical ski touring backpack made from BlueSign® certified materials. It accommodates for a wide range of uses and is equipped with innovative attachment options. It will be available in the following sizes: 25 liter, 30 liter, and a women’s 24 liter.

The new Machine ice tools by Grivel made their debut, offering everyone a hands-on look at a modern approach to a revolutionary timepiece. The Light Machine is designed primarily for technical mountaineering while The Tech Machine and The Machine 3.0 are made specifically for technical water ice.

Grivel also unveiled a new addition to the Alpine Rucksack - Lightest Series: The Zen 30L and 40L, a very light and minimalistic rucksack. Another new item from Grivel that caught a lot of attention was the new A&D Ascender, an ascender with an integrated descending option for big mountain pursuits.

As announced in a press release prior to the start of the show, we are going to start distributing Movement skis in North America. At OR, we were able to show off the eight models that we are bringing in, including the new and improved Super Turbo Evo ski.

A new addition was made to the solid line of Cypher quickdraws and biners with the introduction of the new Ceres II carabiner. Now available in 6 different colors, the Ceres II is a perfect ultra-light racking biner that allows you to color-code your rack, making it easier to find the right piece for the cracks.

Valandre’s new Immelman G2 down jacket turned a lot of heads with its intelligent construction, design, and quality.

And to top it all off, we announced that the Peregrine Radama tent will now have a one and four-person version, in addition to the current two and three-person models.

Oh, and don’t forget to check out the new 2014 Liberty Mountain Climbing catalog. We handed out a ton of these at OR. If you didn't get one, a digital version is available on our website for viewing and download. If you would like a hardcopy of the catalog, please get in contact with our sales department to request a copy. On that note, the 2014 Liberty Mountain - Everything for the Outdoors Catalog is scheduled to be done mid-February.
