New Backpack – Vaude Brenta

The Vaude Brenta 35 backpack was recently featured in the 2013 Backpacker Magazine Gear Guide. The Brenta was spotlighted for being a quality pack at such a competitively low price, i.e., a “Killer Deal.” The gear testers had many great things to say about the pack, including: "This pack wins the price-to-performance contest by a long shot." – "This is a day-hiking machine." - "The foam-and-mesh shoulder straps and lightly cushioned hipbelt received high marks for comfort and stability."


The Vaude Brenta comes in five different sizes: 25L, 30L, 35L, 40L, and 50L. The Brenta is packed full of innovative features that make this pack a great one. In summary, the Vaude Brenta is a technically advanced and sporty backpack that was made for long treks and extended cabin tours.

Across the entire Brenta line, the packs provide great stability and ventilation with the Aeroflex Easy Adjust system. The Aeroflex Easy Adjust uses an adjustable net-like material that creates a space between the pack and the wearers back while also allowing the pack to rest directly against the wearer’s back when collapsed. The Aeroflex Easy Adjust has pull-loops at the hipbelt that lets the wearer adjust the space between the pack and their back while it’s still being worn.

The length of the shoulder straps on the Brenta are adjustable from both ends, thanks to the F.L.A.S.H. shoulder straps system. With the F.L.A.S.H. system, the wearer can fully adjust the length of the pack’s shoulder straps quickly and easily. An easy-access Velcro closure at the back regulates the ideal strap length. F.L.A.S.H. is typically used in conjunction with the Aeroflex suspension systems.

The Benta is compartmentalized with a total of 10 individual compartments. On the outside of the pack the following can be found: two zippered pockets on the hipbelt, two elastic water bottle pouches on the side, one zippered pocket on the lid, one stretch pocket on the front, and a zippered pocket on the bottom that stores the included rain-cover. Inside the pack the following can be found: one main compartment utilizing the top half of the pack, one floor compartment utilizing the bottom half of the pack with an inside and outside zipper, one hydration bladder sleeve, and a zippered compartment on the inside of the lid.

In addition to everything else, the Vaude Brenta includes padded and contoured shoulder straps and hipbelt, adjustable sternum strap, compression straps, trekking pole attachments, hydration hose openings, and a rain-cover. In all its sizes, the Brenta ranges in weight from 2 lb 6 oz to 2 lb 16 oz. The outer fabric of the pack 100% polyurethane coated polyamide, while the inside fabric is 100% polyurethane coated polyester.
