A Weekend Full Of Events

Over the weekend, we were able to represent Grivel, Pieps, and Beal as sponsors for three different outdoor industry events. We love attending and supporting these types of events; it definitely is a fun way to interact with different communities, support worthy causes, and promote our brands and products. As 2012 draws closer to an end, we are already excited for our loaded calendar of events for 2013.

Bozeman Ice Climbing Festival
On December 6-9, our Grivel reps and athletes were in Bozeman, MT for the 16th annual Bozeman Ice Climbing Festival. Athletes such as Shingo Ohkawa, Aaron Mulkey, and Scott Adamson were present doing what they do best…slaying ice with their sharpened Grivel axes and crampons.

Peter McConkie, Liberty Mountain’s Director of Sales managed the Grivel booth and outfitted countless amounts of people with Grivel demo ice axes and crampons while also getting out to the ice falls for some pitches.

It was hard not to see the proud colors of Grivel flying around during the Bozeman Ice Climbing Festival with our gear demos, a flashy new booth, and all our athletes and reps. The organizers did a wonderful job putting on this event and it was an honor to be a part of it. The 17th annual couldn’t come too soon.

Community Avalanche Seminar
On Friday, December 7, our Pieps reps were in Tahoe City, CA at Alpenglow Sports to offer a free community avalanche seminar. Ryan Guess and Aaron Fox, Liberty Mountain’s sales reps, educated over 100 people in attendance on the basics of how an avalanche beacon works: frequency, flux lines, antenna’s, etc., as well as multiple burial conditions and deep burial scenarios. They discussed the importance of range, good versus poor coupling, as well as tested all current popular beacons on the market for their good and poor coupling ranges and deep burial scenario performances.

We’d like that thank Alpenglow Sports for hosting our reps and their seminar, as well as all those that attended. It was a very enjoyable event and we hope to do it again in the future.

AAI Benefit Seminars
With our desire to support the outdoor industry and local communities, as well as to celebrate International Mountain Day, we joined forces with the American Alpine Institute and the Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center for their benefit seminars on Saturday, December 8. The AAI conducted Rock Rescue and Avalanche Awareness seminars in Everett, WA that were followed by a killer after-party with pizza, beer, an action, raffle, and live music. This event was a fundraiser for the Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center. We represented the Beal, Grivel, and Pieps brands through our donations of gear for the auction and raffle.
